About the Event
Come help us support the Trash Free Shenandoah initiative by removing debris from the 1-mile portion of the North Fork which runs through the White House Farm property. We will be working along the riverbank to pick up all manner of debris, which will be consolidated and properly disposed of. After the cleanup, enjoy a cookout lunch with us along the banks of the river.
This activity is suitable for volunteers aged 13+. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Location: White House Farm in Luray, VA. Detailed parking directions will be sent to you via email prior to the event.
Attire: Please dress for the weather, and be prepared for conditions along the riverbank including mud, low tree branches, thorns, and ticks. We recommend wearing long pants and socks, and tucking in all clothing items.
Supplies: Please bring a pair of thick work gloves to protect your hands. You are also welcome to bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on during lunch. All trash bags and grabbers will be provided.
